Did you know that a greater part of your emotions and behaviors have their origins in your mind's subconscious part? What is this subconscious? Though we might not have the ability to control it entirely yet the ideas, needs, aspirations, are connected to it.
We're all aware of the conscious mind, aversions are perceived by us. There's another aspect which we are not perceiving that is the subconscious. It is just like a hard disk containing images, memories, experience from boundless past lifetimes and our personality is impacted by them in a huge way. Consider for example someone who suffers from claustrophobia this woman can't know why she has this strange fear of closed spaces. The reason is when she was a four-year-old she went by herself into a lift, the electricity went off and she was made to remain in that elevator for a one and a half an hour. Now that has been an experience of her mind, the perceptions she was aware of at that moment. Gradually the conscious memory faded away but the encounter remained in the subconscious hard drive and that's the reason why the instant she perceives the danger of a closed space she divides into a sweat and she can't figure out why is this claustrophobia occurring. Its roots are from the subconscious.
So let us attempt to understand just how this subconscious and conscious interact with each other. Compare them to workers on a ship that is in the engine room they don't have any access to see outside. The captain of their ship is about the deck and he barks out orders to the Mariners from the motor area, step on the buttocks do this do that and Mariners they obediently obey. Like the captain is our conscious mind and as the Mariners from the engine room is the subconscious. Talk to ourselves, we talk with our mind we encounter perceptions and these go function within. If for example, somebody keeps on telling himself I'm useless, I can never succeed, there is no way I could do this lousy type of self-talk programs that the subconscious which becomes convinced I can never win and every time a challenge seems that the subconscious tells the conscious you cannot do it. This person has developed a defeatist mindset and how did that mentality come the subconscious was programmed with his self-talk.
So the self-talk that we do can program our internal being to our advantage or disadvantage. some people say self-talk, do I talk to myself all I have seen people talking to golf balls come on come on three feet left to get it, ah you made it .so when people talk to golf balls will they not talk to themselves? All the time there is a psychological chatter. I am happy I'm sad. If we want our subconscious to operate to our advantage we'll need to be careful about the messages that we convey to it in our thoughts. Hence the conversion of our subconscious demands the proper control of our mind. If we could use the capacity we will discover that we can easily plan ourselves to become positive, optimistic, hopeful, cheerful and joyous those wonderful items will probably be very nicely within our reach when we could tap into the potential of the subconscious mind.
